I have a 2010 Shockwave toy hauler 5th wheel. 2 brand new batteries from the dealer I bought the trailer from. They wont charge past 2/3 and then die within 3-4 hours only running the fridge. Anyone have an idea what might be wrong with the charging system? I've already conducted a load test on each batt seperately and they're good.

What's the voltage at battery's when shore power is plugged in?

This may some dumb, but did u check to see if by some strange chance, the hooked them in series?? Stranger things have happened!!

Something else to check. When shore power is plugged in, can you run a a vacuum off a wall plug? Sometimes, when you plug a camper in to a GFI circuit, the breaker trips, and you just think it is plugged in, when in reality, it isn't getting any power at all. Does the clock on the microwave work? (anothe clue about shore power). Have you checked all the breakers in the panel and RESET them all. Lastly, as post#2 ask, what is the voltage on the batteries when plugged in?

Check every hour and write it down, should show a steady increase, up toward 13.8 volts or so.

The batteries are not in series. Ill have to check the voltage when hooked up to shore power but while plugged in, all 120v appliances work fine. Thanks for the help, ill get the voltage tonight.
