Closing it up for the summer in Arizona

We are new to snowbirding and we are about to closeup our 5th wheel for the summer. What do I need to do to close it up for the hot desert sun?

We already plan to place several 5 gallon buckets of water around inside to help with the dry air.

I live in dry climate I have read about leaving water in trl but never have never had problems now I also lived in high humidity and mold. No arguing just hoping for a refresher for what the water does

The water will add some humidity into the trailer. Units here that haven't added water buckets in the past and opened their trailer to cracked and split cabinet doors and tables. The desert just sucks the moisture out of the interior wood.

Be sure to check the roof. We stored our TT, near our Arizona home and the roof got cooked, even with a tarp on it.

Great recommendation! Roof has been cleaned, conditioned, and protectant applied. All seams checked and Dicor added where needed.

As I've been told...

Thank you I live in a spot with around 17% humidity gets triple digits almost daily in summer never left water out. My thoughts would be first week super humid possibly mold growth after day ten or 14 no water left in buckets maybe some on floor or ceiling guess depends on time of day but by June no humidity trls aren’t air tight. That’s just my perception could be way off that’s why I am asking

our friends in Fort Mohave leaves about 4-5 totes, with small holes drilled in the lids to get the moisture out. They also have some friends fill the buckets up during the hot summer.
