Anybody had any trouble with the full slide out on a Coachmen Mirada? I have had nothing but trouble with mine! It's cost me $4,000 in repairs! The slide is too long to work correctly. This is the third time I'm going to have to take it in and lose another planned trip!

It’s not the slide being to long or heavy IMO. It’s the system they are using. I was at the factory getting repaired and they had a lot full with them getting repaired. I looked at the guy next to me that was at the CG for Coachmen same problem with his slide. They switched to that floating system it jumps and causes problems. Depending on your year you could have the old slide system or the new. Is your system rails the black ones, about a 1/2” wide? They all had that system on them. To pay $4000 already in repairs you could have it changed out to the better system by Schwintek. It has a better rail and a heavy duty motor. As I looked at his system I was amazed they made that change. Also there were a lot of problems of the slide not being square which also doesn’t help. What is your system doing?

Mine is a 2018. We went to load it for a trip, so opened the slide room all the way to get to the bedroom. I noticed that back did not seal open. When we moved the slide in, it did not seal closed in the front. Sticks out about 2". Prior to this experience it got stuck half way open and I had a repairman come out and disconnect the motor and push it in. They found that the wiring harness was crimped and replaced it to the tune of $800. And prior to that episode, again it stuck open and the repair shop said it needed new motors, gears, and control module to the tune of $3,330. Since we arethe second owners, nothing was covered under any warranty!

Do you know if Coachman is replacing the mechanism free of charge?

Sounds like your motors are not Synic. LCI has a video out on there site on how to Synic them. I doubt if Coachmen is replacing any of them. When you use the system either going out or coming in once it’s out or in hold the button still and count to 5 that will keep them in Synic.

Exactly what Witch Doctor said. We had problems with our Miranda until one of the techs told me about holding the switch for a few seconds when the slide has extended or retracted all the way. Apparently that is when the system is synchronizing. He also told me that before I put it out to push the " in" button for a few seconds in case it had moved at all during travels. Watch the video about synchronizing and note that you don't move it very far (inches) to synchronize.

I would like to know also if Forest River is replacing these. My 2023 Coachmen Mirada 35ES, had the same problem about sticking out. On mine the bottom would not close all the way, and also made a noise. The bad problem is it's a 2023 and just bought it February 2024. Made one trip and that happens, along with the Leveling jack failure and both A/C units went out. It's been in the maintenance shop going on 2 months. I tried to get someone to explain why a 2023 model would have these many problems.
