Were considering buying a 2011 FR Palomino Stampede S-238 and wanted to know of any thing special to inspect on this unit. We've only seen it once so far, but, pics and an actual You Tube video of it look pretty good, so far..
Thx
If the 238 had been available when we bought our Roo 23SS, we would've chosen the 238. It's one the best hybrid floorplans ever made. Unfortunately it didn't come out until 2008 or 2009 and no California Palomino dealer was carrying them. You had to order it.
The biggest "special" place to inspect thoroughly, is the bunk doors and bunk door frame area. Outside of that, it would be no different than any other type of RV.
Water intrusion happens often in this area. It requires more inspection and maintenance but that's because it has two giant holes in the front and back. The front door tends to be the one that is more susceptible since it's angled, while the rear one is vertical.
Thx, but no bunks in this unit, just queen fold downs, both ends.
I like the floorplan as well, but, doesn't match the floorplan drawings I see when searching for unit. It has dinette on right when entering and kitchen on slide, opposite door.
I read your message and thought 'bunk house', watching too many videos of larger trailers I guess.. I'll definitely check the bunk doors. Thx again from a hybrid newbie and hopefully soon to be "former pop-up camper"..
