With the temps here in the Southeastern region getting cooler, it will be time to winterize my 2020 FR3 DS30. This will be my first winter with my FR3 and I wanted feedback on what you have done in the past with using protection covers vs. not covering. I know this question is a bigger one with any motorhome owner, but I just wanted to focus on this FR3 forum.

My previous approach with my TTs was not to cover. No real reason, just didn't do it. The investment now with the FR3 is a different one.

Thanks for your responses.

My opinion it depends on where you live; and your travel plan what i do in NorCal, is store it uncovered in the winter and covered in the summer months. Ive seen many coaches covered in the winter wet months, then when cover is taken off there is mold or rot caused by the trapped water.

That's just my thoughts. you will get many opinions.... best of luck

I have a 2014 FR3 30DS and never cover it. I live in New Jersey.[emoji106][emoji106]

I cover mine in central PA. Mold shouldn't be a problem in most places as the cover should breath.

This shouldn’t happen with an RV cover, as they are designed to breathe.

I have a cover and used it for 2 seasons and don't bother any longer. Seemed to do more harm then good since the bottom straps that go under the underbelly rubbed from the wind and scratched the paint off on the the bottom metal apron of the RV. I just keep after the washing and waxing a little more and that's what works for me here in NJ.

I have never covered it here in Northeastern Ohio, I watched a friend - neighbor uncover his, the mice, chipmunks and or squirrels had made a big mess on his roof. That may have been a one time thing, but it turned me off to wanting to cover it. Just what I seen with my own eyes one time.
Good luck with whatever choice you make, I hope it works best for you.
Happy camping.

I am also in the SE. [Florida Panhandle.. ] Winter IS the time of year to camp down here! I have yet to cover or winterize other than draining the tanks for cold snaps.
