Cross Trail 20XG Gas Water Heater Not Igniting

My Gas Water Heater will not ignite. I followed the directions from some YouTube videos and determined there was no power coming in. The "GAS WATER HEATER" switch was on and lit up, but I checked all the wires coming into the heater with a volt-meter and there was no 12 V power anywhere. Just to be complete, I verified the 2 amp fuse, the thermal-limit fuse and T-Stat were all good (0 ohms). I looked for another fuse but maybe I missed it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dometic WH-6GA

The water heater is a Dometic WH-6GA. I didn't provide that originally because the issue doesn't seem to be with the actual heater because the heater itself is not getting power. But I'm happy to provide any info that you think might help solve the issue. The RV is a 2023 Coachmen Cross Trail 20XG Xtreme.

1st thing I would do is make sure the power is leaving the switch. If so, I would run a jumper to the 12 volt at the control board and see if the tank works.

Cross Trail 20XG Gas Water Heater Repaired!

Thanks Dwilcox. In my quest to find a 12 volt wire to use to jumper the heater, I opened the control panel at the entry door and discovered the power wire to the water heater was inserted in the connector incorrectly. This is a new RV and I'm guessing they never even tested the water heater. If they did, it could not have worked. I reconfigured the connector and the gas water heater started working! In fact, it heats very quickly and stays hot for a long time. So for now I am very happy.

Yes, thanks for posting your good outcome.

And a great reminder to others that even though a switch "lights up" doesn't mean it is passing current. When checking electrical items, it is always good to start at the source of the circuit with a voltmeter and work towards the load, checking any breakers, fuses and switches in between.
