WM's slide made me think of this. Ours was on gravel or asphalt though.
The only danger was if you fell while being the inside person(s) pushing or losing your grip while flying from the supports. Ours was far enough off the ground though so you could lay down in the middle and not get hit waiting for it to slow down and stop.
Seats were optional after school hours.
