Can anyone help me we bought a 2013 378XL Georgetown last year, and just last weekend we try to play a DVD movie in the entertainment/camera/radio/DVD player on the dash which is a Clarion ( do not know model) I cannot find any manual for it, in all the manual the dealer gave us, does anyone have a copy of one or know where I can get one? the reason we are asking is using the remote that came with it we cannot get the movie to play on the tv screen. we pushed every button on the remote. HELP and confused.

Have you changed your TV to the correct input. Not sure what your menu looks like, but it's usually one of these ANT/Cable, Video 1, HDMI, etc. The TV's remote usually have a button marked "Input". Switch through it until you see the picture from the DVD player.

on my 280 i have a separate cd/dvd/am/fm system my dash unit only plays radio and cd's

Charlie,

Thank you for the web site. I down loaded the manual for VZ401 which is what we have. I will try to do a DVD on the TV when I get back home today.

Dutch...a couple of notes...the ONLY output from the clarion that provides external video is a black wire with a YELLOW RCA jack... another RCA cable should be plugged into that and then into ONE of the yelllow input jacks on your TV which should be accessible via the input switch on your TV remote control as one of the choices.
The other possible glitch is that the parking brake may be wired to "must be engaged" before you can see the video overhead.
If the easy stuff doesn't work, I'd try to do a continuity test on the yellow radio jack to the back of the TV wire before sending the unit in for warranty work. I note lots of the sound problems here end up being factory mis-wiring or oops I forgot to attach that wire kind of stuff which is easily fixed once found.
Good luck!

We found that we have to point the remote at the dashboard unit in order to control the TV. Actually, our much more tech-savvy 14 year old grandson figured it out. It's counter-intuitive, but it works.

I can share with you my experience with the clarion unit in my GT XL-2014: to play a cd movie the TV set needs to programmed to video. TV remote. Input button will guide you. Step 2 the dash radio switch needs to be ON. All functions for the cd are done through the clarion remote and not the tv remote! To turn up the volume is through the clarion remote pointing of course to the tiny clarion sensor. Make sure the ignition keys are out and parking brake is fully set. ( I believe this is a safety issue so your not watching a movie while driving on the small screen.). Good luck!
