Dinette Table Damaged

I just went out to check on our Greywolf and was surprised that the surface of the dinette table was all cracked and peeling! We have only had the camper 6 months.

It has been winterized since November. I can not imaging what caused this. Are there any ideas, or anyone else that has experienced the same thing?

I tried to upload photos but something is not working right. I will keep trying.

Thanks

Looks like water may have seeped in around the edge trim. We had a truck camper with a removable table where the same happened (looked just like that) after the dew seeped in after a couple days.

Had you ever spilled something on it?
Roof leak?
Moisture problem inside?

.... Are there any ideas, ?

A cap, .... this may or may not work with your dinette setup, but it's an idea that works great for us, .... I put a cap over our table, not to cover damage, but to increase the table top area back to the cushion of the middle sitting area, .... it's just the two of us and I know we're able to modify somethings that others might not be able to, ... but the larger area that this gives accommodates both laptops and still leaves room for eating and other stuff, ... the vertical edge around the table allows us to clip a fence around the top for travel, thus we don't have to remove anything when traveling, actually we are able to use that area as a place to sit some oddball items to keep them safe while moving, ... this works great for us, ...

Good place to place the paper towels!!

you could put another piece of laminate on top...

trim with sharp razor knife so busted pieces lay flat again

OR remove broken pieces and fill voids with bondo sand flat...

glue down any loose busted laminate sand it FLAT

then give the entire top a thorough sanding to make it rough...

get a sheet of laminate and some contact adhesive
cutting and trimming of laminates by standard woodworking tools

Lots of youtube videos on how to apply laminates

Dinette tables are a weak link. I changed out my system of securing the table but now it wobbles. Mostly I leave the dinette in the bed configuration and just use tv trays on the couch for meals.

This is 6 months old or you've owned it for 6 months. Absent damage in use it won't hurt to explore a warranty claim.
