Disappointed with Oxygenics Fury shower head

Like many others, I replaced the original shower head in my new Rockwood 2109S with and Oxygenics Fury shower head.

This weekend, my wife and I had our first outing, a long weekend at a campground about 25 miles from our house. When we got to the campground, I found the new shower head hanging by its hose because the wall mount had broke.

I contacted Oxygenics their reply was a bit lame, "Our shower head wall mounts are not designed for road travel with the shower head still attached into the mount. The bumps of the roads just plays too much havoc. We highly recommend that you use some other means of securing the head or just laying it down on the floor on top of a towel."

This makes some sense but...what not make a better mount, maybe one out of metal instead of cheap plastic? If cost is an issue then why not, at the very least, add that tip to the install/user manual??? I looked through the instructions an nowhere is this tidbit mentioned so instead, they blame the operator.

The good news is the for just shy of $17 including shipping, they would send me a replacement plastic wall mount. That's close to half the cost of an entire shower head kit. That being said, I plan to buy a replacement shower head from another manufacture. I hope Oxygenics adds this info to their instruction booklet for future owners.

I always drop the shower head in the tub for travel. I have a rear bath and I don't want it dropping out and damaging itself or the tub. The response you got about the bracket might not be because of the bracket, they may have had issues with the bracket pulling the bracket fasteners out of the cheap RV wall materials.

X2 we put ours on the floor of the shower as I assumed the wall mount wasn't that strong.

I would never travel with the shower head mounted on the holder for all the reasons listed by others. Furthermore, while I really like the Fury shower head, the hose that comes with Themis cheap crap. I replaced the hose with a longer SS hose so the head sits completely on the shower floor during travel.

I plan to put mine on the floor going forward. I wish they would have stated that in their manual though.
I searched some more online for a replacement bracket and found the same one Oxygenics uses but under another brand name for around $3.50. Shipping is free if you have Walmart+.
If I keep the Oxygenics, I may replace the hose as well. It looks like heck and it's way to stiff to be practical.

The part that is the same as what Oxygenics uses is the actual claw holder, the stem it's attached to, the white ball and the screw on collar.

I replaced mine with Oxygenics. I used the shower head and hose that came with it but since the existing mount looked more solid I kept it and tossed the Oxygenics one. I travel with it on the mount (usually). It's the ball mount type, which I screwed in to the wall rather than rely on adhesive.

I've never been an Oxygenics fan.
We purchased the original only to find it didn't live up to the hype AND flowed more water than the OEM.
While I know the Fury gets good reviews, EVERY review also says they still come with a crappy, stiff hose that the original had.
I simply can't believe that company hasn't read any of those reviews and still ships the crappy hose.
There are more economical heads on the market that do the same and you don't have to spend EXTRA for a replacement hose.
Two 👎

BTW... my shower head rides in the hanger every trip.
The hanger is metal and fits well and has never come out in thousands of traveled miles.

I have been really happy with my Oxygenics (can't remember the exact one at the moment) head. But I really have nothing to compare it to. The original shower head in my used TT had fallen and broken, so I never used it.

I replaced mine with the same. Never thought of laying the shower head on the shower floor during travel days. Always mounted on the wall and haven't had an issue. Guess I'll add this to the list to do before traveling.

Has anyone tried the Waterpik Transform Pivoting RV Shower Head?

I too replaced the original shower head with the Oxygenics Fury, buying into the hype. I can't say it is any better than the original. I continued using the original wall mount instead of the mount included with the Fury. The very next trip, the Fury was found on the shower floor and the mount was pulled out from the wall. I called the shower surround manufacturer seeking adhesive recommendations to better secure the wall mount. I don't recall now what they suggested. I asked if 3M 4000 was acceptable and was told a definite no due to incompatibility with the wall material. I now travel with the head on the shower floor and regularly retighten the mount's screws.

The Fury is a much larger and heavier head. I am not surprised you all are having issues with it ripping from the wall. I can also see why its flowing more water than the cheap OEM shower head.

The smaller BodySpa RV is lighter and will stay put usually but I still it on the shower pan for travel. I like this smaller unit and it uses less water than the cheap OEM one my trailer came with but still has enough flow to work well.

We replaced the OEM showerhead 9 years ago with an Oxygenics Fury. When I installed it, I left the original metal showerhead mount rather than use the new plastic one. Never had a problem while traveling. My bride took issue with the stiff Oxygenics supplied hose and bought a slightly longer and more flexible hose from Home Depot for $5. The Oxygenics showerhead is 10X better than that head that was in there. Bottom line, it's a camper shower, not a spa. :nodding:
