So the light doesn't work on my fridge, so far I've:

Replaced the bulb, and tried yet a third bulb.
Checked the fuses in the outside accessible black box.
Unplugged the connection to the top spade on the switch.

Nothing is connected to the bottom spade of the switch.

I don't know if the switch is bad, the assembly is bad or if something is not connected. New to me motorhome so I don't know if it ever worked.

How is the switch supposed to work? What goes to the bottom spade?

See the attached manual, the twentieth page (which is labelled "21"). The switch is item H. One wire goes directly to the lamp, item G. The other switch terminal has a red wire going to terminal J2 on the control board and a wire connecting to the heating cable.

So there's a piece of metal that sticks out of the side of the fridge that the bottom spade on the switch should be touching. When I put a screwdriver in between the two the light went on. I could not bend that piece enough to make it keep contact, so I put a couple of pieces of plastic behind it (between it and the bulb terminal) this shim pushed the spade and that metal tab together and has fixed the problem.

No idea what happened and why this problem existed, but it seems OK now.

The white line is where I put the shim to squeeze that tab over to the right so it made contact with the bottom spade of the switch.

Just a WAG Elliot but in 2011 they were not using LED bulbs. I suspect the original bulb was longer and forced the contact.
