We just purchased a 2024 Chapparel 337tsik. I was going through and making sure everything worked and that I knew how to operate everything before going on our first trip with it. I hooked up to city water everything worked then put water in fresh water tank everything worked but when I wanted to empty the fresh water tank the only way I could find was to run the water pump. Anything I've ever owned had a gravity feed drain on fresh water tanks and this seems to be excessive use on the water pump. Am I missing something here?

look underneath ... mine has a white drain that looks exactly like a black water valve
it is just easy enough to reach under and dump
I don't use any hoses or anything

waters my lawn when I dump
If you want to .. add some bleach to the water FILL UP and run all the faucets inside
then do the dump .... fill up again and rinse it lawn won't be hurt by bleach

I usually do this when the water has been sitting for several months
Just in case

Thanks for the comments. That is exactly what I was looking for but could not find. I did a 3rd look around underneath and finally spotted it. I've had several T.T. and a class A before and normally this is by the other water lines and water pump which on this model are up front but this drain all by itself is behind the rear wheel. Bottom line is problem solved. Thanks

My FW tank had a capped drain that I swapped out with a valve for a quick drain when desired, My low point drains were the same but the valves I installed started leaking so I just recapped them.
Side issue: anybody add a water cut off valve to their toilet for boondocking?
For water conservation, I have buckets in the sink and shower to retain water and dump that into the toilet for flushing. Don’t need to waste additional when the system is still pressurized even though the pump is turned off.

Yes, we had done this to our last Flagstaff. There was enough PEX exposed at the back of the toilet I just cut it and installed a Sharkbite shutoff.

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the Plumbing, Water Systems and Fixtures sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to that particular sub-forum and are not general community discussion questions.

Thanks for sharing what you find. That's a very strange place to put the fresh water tank drain.
