We have a Sierra 384bok. We turned on the water heater and hot water in faucets. We are using electricity. The dsi light came on and off several times. We just discovered the power wasn’t selected to electricity on the water heater. We turned on our gas. The water did get hot. However, the DSI LIGHT is still lit and we cannot turn off any lights that are on the panel with the DSI light. Help if anyone can.

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. What year is your rig? "we turned on our gas" were you trying to operate with your propane shut off? Somewhere on your panel or elsewhere (I don't know your exact rig) there should be a switch for WH turn that off its not needed if you are operating on electricity with the switch at the WH on. Remember when you break camp turn the electric switch at the WH to off to prevent burning up the element should you drain the system.

Water Heater dsi issue

All, with the switch at the water heater
ON for electricity
NO gas on
we select WATER HEATER at the panel inside,
The DSI light on the panel lights multiple times. And at the water you hear the attempt to light the pilot light.

Question: how many times will it attempt to light WITH NO GAS?

After many attempts it freezes our screen inside.

With the switch at the WH on you do not need to also turn on the switch at the panel if you do you are telling the WH to use propane also you can run both at the same time.
1. So if you'er plugged into shore power and want to use the WH on electric go to the WH and turn the switch on and that it.
2. if you want to heat with propane make sure your propane is on and then use the switch on your panel to tell the WH to use propane.
3. If you want to use both turn on the electric switch at the WH and ensure your propane is on then hit the switch for the Direct Spark Ignation (there is no pilot light) and use both for a faster recovery.
4. when you brake camp make sure the electric switch is off.
