Dump valves

I have a leaking black tank valve. Does anyone know if the 3 inch and 1 1/2 inch dump valves are a standard bolt pattern. If I'm changing one I might as well do both.

Normally all you do is remove the 4 bolts, slip out the old gate and put in the new one - if youve got enough wiggle room otherwise sometimes just pulling out the old gate is a task because of limited slack in the plumbing

I get that. I don't think that will be an issue for me. There is a rubber fitting on one end. My concern is do all the manufacturers of the valves use the same bolt spacing?

I've only replaced 1 of my 3 waste valves. It was 1.5" and had 2 round seals which fit on either end of the waste valve plumbing. The bolts through the flange squeezes it all together.

All my waste gates were Bristol and were replaced with Valterra. I did 1 my rv dealer did the other 2 because they were in a collector Y pipe that I couldn't get apart.

I've not seen a rubber fitting to match the bolt pattern before. Maybe someone else has.

Sorry for any confusion. The rubber fitting is like a rubber Fernco fitting held on with a clamp. I assume it's clamped to the tank outlet.

No problem.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. It sounds like you're taking the tank outlet off to create space for the waste gate replacement. Logical, that's how my rv dealer did mine.

When I replaced my black slide gate, the dealer asked what was the brand. I asked if there was a difference, and he stated it was just enough that it was best to replace with the original brand. They are close... but not quite.

He had both in stock.

Before installing the new, lube the rubber gaskets with silicone grease or plumbers grease. That will help the longevity and ease of use.
I fought with both gray and black before ruining the black; after replacing and greasing the black, then reworking the gray, both have been fine in the last 6-7 years.

Help that hopes!
