Dx3 authority code for trimark door lock

Hi, is the authority code something that everyone should be changing from the factory default ? If so can someone post up how they did it? So far I’ve only seen how to program the access codes. Thanks.

Good question. It appears anyone in the know could access the system. I haven't looked for the RF Controller. Don't know where it is.

It would have been nice if it was configured so that memory slot #1 could be stored as the access/authority code but I don’t think that’s the case.

Are you guys including the RF remotes with these systems?

Reading over the instructions it looks like if you don’t have the RF remote you have to find the wire harness and short the yellow wire to ground to enter programming for new Authority code.

It appears that you are able to enter and erase access codes just by using the authority code. So I could go in and erase factory default access codes and enter new access codes for security, however; if I am unable or unwilling to change authority code it doesn’t really make a difference because anyone who knows factory defaults will be able to gain access.

Is this correct?

I also really like that I no longer have to replace batteries.

I had previously asked Brian about the remote fobs for our 2021 Dynaquest XL. He told me then, Dynamax no longer supplies the remote fobs. That may have changed for 2022 or 2023.

I was able to set a new authority code by following the "Option 1" instructions in the "Teaching Keypad New Authority / Access Codes" section of the keypad manual. I had to remove the access panel on the inside of the door to access the wiring harness. I used a paper clip to short the yellow wire to ground to put the keypad into "Learn Mode". The rest of the procedure is straight forward.

I purchased a 2021 DX3 and do not have the Authority Code. I need more help on jumping the “yellow wire” to put it into learn mode. Any help greatly appreciated! Video or pictures with the paper clip would be great!

All of the original authority codes are the same and in the manual on the DM owners manual website. I still don't like posting codes to the forum even if they are the same. For that matter all user.l codes are the same unless changed. There is some history on this on the forum if you do a search too, I changed both codes right after purchase for this reason.

We do not include the module, so the only way to reset is jumping the wire.
