I was one of the lucky ones with the early version of the generator with the rough running issues. Just wanted to update and say thanks to NPS. Got all the parts with instructions. Installed myself and the thing never missed a beat all summer. Almost 100 hours on it now and very happy.
While I had it apart I did install a manual fuel shutoff valve in the fuel line just outside the case and upstream from the pump, filter, and carb. Anytime I know the gen won't be running for a few weeks I use that valve to shut it down. As many of us know the gummy carb on a gen can be a nightmare. This easily solves that.
1. Changed the wiring to the low oil pressure shut off switch. Quite a few wires and a little confusing but going slowly and following the directions it works out fine.
2. Pulled the old fuel pump.
3. Drilled holes underneath where the pump gets mounted for extra cooling.
4. Installed new pump. Not a perfect fit into the flange mounts but one screw seems to hold fine. I would like a spare high pressure pump to carry with me. Not sure if this is it or if it's the same as my old one.

5. Put it all back together. Lots of ground wires on the main stud so have to make sure those all get put back on.
6. Crawled under at the left rear leaf spring and cut into the fuel line and installed the check valve. Needs to be close to the tank. That way the gen can run off the fuel in the line during the evap cycle when the engine is running.
7. Pictures coming in next post.
