Our 2021 FR3 30DS "electric" hot water heater has stopped working.
It has been working fine until this past weekend. We had to use the propane for hot water.
Any suggestions as to why it has stopped heating the water?
Thank you!

Do you know what make/model water heater you have...or better yet, can post a pic of the water heater?

Good deal.

Easy basics things to check first.

1. Make sure you have 120 volt AC power to the RV. Electric element has to have electric power.
2. Make sure the circuit breaker to the water heater in the RV's electric panel is not tripped.
3. Make sure the ECO/hi-limit thermostat is not tripped. This can be reset underneath the rubber covers on the outside of the RV on the water heater.

See post #3 here for pics. Also see post #11 there.

i had the same problem and more on mine (2020 FR3DS) and i wasnt getting any hot water. after a bit of trouble shooting i ended up taking the water out to check it better and it sounded like there was 100 dollars worth of loose change inside of it. i turned it upside down down and started shaking it and a pile of porcelain came out of it,this rig only had 2500 miles on it at the time(6000 now). i didnt even waste my time calling for a warranty(would have taken forever anyway), i bought a fogahti tankless heater and had it installed in 30 minutes , best mod yet!

RV tankless water heaters are just propane.
Thanks! We tend to stay for long periods of time in places with full hookups and are able to make propane last for five months or so. I think it would work for us if we were in a TT or 5er, because then we wouldn’t have to break camp to refill propane.

If yours has the small on/off switch by the tank itself, it can go bad. I replaced an element and a thermostat before finding the switch was bad. In my defense, it was working intermittently, which is very frustrating. You think it is fixed but... If you have to replace the thermostat, there is a higher temperature one that will extend showers a little longer.
