Eternabond Question

I spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon today applying Eternabond to the various seams and attachments on the roof of my 2007 Flagstaff 831BHSS. Thanks to researching many of the previous posts on this subject I think the project went along quite well. The seams were relatively easy to do. The attachments were relatively difficult to do. Very fussy!

Now, for my question. For those who have done this mod, how did you handle the AC unit on the roof? Did you disassemble it so that you could apply Eternabond underneith, or what?

The air conditioner uses a compression weather striping type of seal so there is no way to eternabond it. The key to it not leaking is making sure the bolts are correctly tightened. You can do a search on this forum that explains how.
Did you eternabond the fridge? I still have that left and have been debating on doing it or not.

I removed the Fridge cap and EB'ed the fridge opening.

Do Not EB the air conditioner. The foam seal depends on the textured surface of the roof material for a complete seal. If you remove the AC; you will need to buy a new seal as the old one will leak over time due to dirt being trapped between the seal and the roof.

The yellow tabs between the air handler cover and the AC unit are torque indicators and a properly torqued seal has those tabs just touching the roof material. If you over tighten the AC it will compress the seal too much and the AC will leak; tighten unevenly and it will leak; too loose and ... You guessed it; it will leak.

No, I have not yet done the refrigerator vent. I have that to do, plus the rear seam. It looked, however, like the refrigerator vent had 4(?) screws holding the cap on and if I removed the cap I would have access to the area that needs to be Eternabonded. Is that how you see it?

I had to dig Lap Sealant out of the holes, but there are 4 screws that hold that cap on. You will have easy access to the area that needs the tape when you do. (You might look into a solar powered booster fan as a replacement cap since you have it off anyway. I wish I had.)
