Europa 31SS Rear Slide

Great photos. It is tight between the slide and wall, but at least you have some access in there. Good photo of the indexed drive nut to better understand why it only goes in one way, and the cut out to see where the motor has to be retrieved from. I can only imagine the number of bad words trying to put the trim screws back in and them falling off the square bit and on the floor. :)

I am having marketing set something up with service to shoot a video for motor swap. We had one, but it was unusable, as it only showed what LCI showed, swapping out a motor. It did not show all the steps leading up to that.

PS. My mobile tech that has done this many times, says 5/16" is use to hold the motor in.

He also said he removes them from the outside if it is out, and inside if it is in. We will video him doing it.

I saw a reference on another FR3 thread that early Slimracks had a notch on both sides of the wall channel to remove the motor from the inside or outside, but on later ones there is only a notch on the inside preventing the motor alone being removed from the outside. (corrected / Gremlins photo looks like the cutout is out and in if the outside seal can be pulled without the rack). . But I have not seen one first-hand apart, so confirm with the tech.

Have him do a video on the back motor of the main slide on the 32KD! :)

I can only confirm mine had a notch on the inside, no idea if it has one on the outside or not.

Several of the Robinson head screws had been stripped on installation so I'm now waiting on amazon tomorrow to deliver me replacements to finish the job. The job was made excessively difficult by the ability to only use one hand at a time in the space as like most humans I'm more horizontal than vertical. However I now have the motor replaced and the trim back in with the few screws that were not stripped. I think the #10's were either all stripped or else are perhaps triple squares not Robinson head, but several of those had snapped off heads (in fact on the outside of my slides I noticed at least three screws missing and can see that the head had snapped of when they were installed.

@bclemens those videos would be super helpful I'm sure.

As for the retainer being a 5/16" bolt maybe it is, 5/16 is about 7.9375mm or basically an 8mm. The Lippert video sure has **** says it's a #9 Metric in one and 9mm in the other (I don't know what a #9 metric is that's what the video says). I do know mine wasn't a 9mm, and I put it back in with an 8mm as well. Honestly I'd be surprised if it really was metric but as I said I couldn't get a 5/16 wrench on mine.

Our motors are only accessible and removable from the inside. However the screw which prevents the motor housing from moving up and down is on the outside.

Thanks for the pictures. Glad the project is on the way to complete resolution and thanks for posting your process, etc.
