Exterior liner near electric awning hanging down - is it okay to remove this?

Hi guys, on my 2018 Wolf Pup 16BHS travel trailer I have an exterior liner that was previously hidden by the electric awning and is now hanging down. It looks like it's plastic and it has threading on the back side of it. One side is still attached, but this side somehow detached, we think it might be due to the very hot summer we've had so far? Is this something that we can remove without adversely affecting anything? I thought this might have been used for protecting the exterior of the trailer when unraveling the electric awning. The forum is not letting me insert the photo into the post, but here's a link to the photo below. Thank you for any information!

Hmmmm... never seen that before. It looks like it's retaining something. What happens to that piece when you open the awning?

Unfortunately there's no way to plug the trailer into power where it's currently stored. Maybe my best bet for now would be to drill a hole through the loose end of it then tie it around the awning? I'm about to take my trailer on a trip and I'm concerned about this being a road hazard.

Looks like an LED light strip. If it is it should work off of the house battery.

It's not an LED strip - there's actually threading behind the strip of plastic that makes it kind of look like that. Our only theory right now is that this strip of plastic was used to protect the side of the trailer for when the electric awning is being unrolled. At this point it might be the most secure option to remove it because I don't want it to be a road hazard, then possibly reattach it at a later date.

Hi Chuck, I uploaded a photo to this image hosting service you can view it here: https://ibb.co/sqrqm5x

It's a long plastic strip with threading behind it, it's hanging down right next to where the electric awning is, so it really seems like it was up there to protect rubbing from the electric awning unrolling. We are planning to remove the strip entirely tomorrow and reattaching it at a later date. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Pictures?

If you extend the awning maybe you can snap it back in?

After looking at your last pic it looks like part of the awning material.
I would open the awning first to see how it attaches before removing.

Kind of looks like the bolt rope that would be sewn to the awning fabric and would be the part that holds the fabric in a channel to the side of the trailer

I don’t understand how it could come out like that without the awning being detached.

The awning is powered from your battery (12 volt). You should be able to roll it out a little to see what is going on with it. My guess is LED. Otherwise, the fabric would be torn.
