We just set up our camper for our son on our 5 acres farm. What is a good exterior sewage system that can get pumped out from a waste water truck every few months?

Look up and call a local septic system company, they should be able to help with guidance.
I guess the biggest issue would be if your local regulations permit a trailer.
Many towns frown on setting up a mobile/ RV on land.
Good luck !

We're in a rural area and pretty much anything goes with campers on properties.

X2 on a full septic system. Why pay to pump it every few months? If the trailer isn't used full time, you may never need to pump the system.

I stayed at an old Forest Service cabin that had a 55 gallon drum buried in the ground and a single perforated leach line leading out from the barrel. One of those big blue plastic barrels would work fine. Good septic tanks have a grease barrier at the top to keep grease from going into the leach line. Since grease floats, it would be easy to make one.

The EPA encourages evapotranspiration fields. The leach line is on top of a heavy plastic liner. We built some of those, and all kinds of things grow in that area.

Don't shoot the messenger, but I considered putting an outhouse on a rural property in Texas. It would have been a small structure over a black water pit but I would have run my RV's sewer line to the outhouse for dumping - and before I get hate mail, in Texas and other states, it's legal . . . when certain criteria are met. It can't be within 75 feet of a stream or tributary and can't be placed over an abandoned stream or well. I got the idea from a friend of mine who builds outhouses from reclaimed barn wood - upscale outhouses costing several thousand dollars. He sells them to people with hunting leases, camping sites and undeveloped property owners. The owners dig a hole and he delivers and sets the outhouse over the top. I doubt this is a long-term solution for you nor anyone else, but dependent upon your state's regulations it could be a temporary measure. Here's the link to the article relating to Texas: https://brazos.org/About-Us/Education/Water-School/ArticleID/267
