first time for a long trip, NC to Ontario

First, thanks for all the helpful replies and offers of assistance.
Second, our trip will be postponed or cancelled for this year. I damaged my repaired knee - it’s held quite well for nearly 40 years. While feeling good on steroids, I destroyed my shoulder working in the yard. So, I’ll have a reverse total shoulder replacement first, then possibly a knee replacement.
I won’t be going anywhere for a little while.
Cheers y’all.

Sorry about your trip cancellation or postponement.
Growing old is not for the faint of heart.
You can get extended warranties on RVs, but not our bodies.
Bin dare, dun dat!

If it's any consolation Whirly you're not in the canceled trip club alone.

This would've been the fifth year in a row we headed down to Raleigh, NC, and Falls Lake Recreation Area/State Park campground (great). First, we started with having our main awning fabric replaced on 3/17, plenty of time to do before our departure date of 4/13. Then, our windshield that I sensed was ready to fall out ordeal. I spoke of this on another thread on this forum, and Progressive Ins. declining my claim to pay to have it removed and reset. That led to the window repair guy seeing two star cracks in the window and declaring it "a broken window." Call your insurance back. I did, and two adjusters went out to take a look at it while my RV was at the awning repair shop, approved a new windshield, and paid for it by Progressive.

On our way to drop off the rig for the awning work, the dash rear and side camera monitor stopped working. Some folks with motorhomes don't bother using them, but I use mine constantly to monitor traffic and our toad behind, and the side cameras for lane change, checking the blind spot before making a move. I had an appointment for a new Kenwood unit to be installed last Thursday, and on the way to the car stereo shop, the guy called and said he doesn't have all the connectors yet. I called him back yesterday and mentioned that I was to leave Friday for a now shortened trip. What's going on with my dash camera unit? He still doesn't have everything needed. This morning we dropped the RV off to have the new windshield installed at the glass shop, and we probably won't have it back until Friday AM, which is to late to come home, turn the fridge on, load it and other food stuffs, load the dolly and our bikes to the RV and put our kayaks on the car. Can you say Cancelled Trip?

So, we leave Friday in my car for a short 5-day trip to Raleigh, not 12 days and 3 to 5 days in Williamsburg, VA.
