Newbie help please

I have a travel trailer Cherokee 274RK

I hooked up the hose "city water" but it overfilled the holding tank while we were out to dinner and flooded the bathroom. I have a small pressure regular at the spigot but when we returned home the water was pouring out of the tank holding and had backed up in the bathroom.

The water heater was on but that was it?

What do I need to change?

Thanks much guys!

Thanks for your message. I had the hose hooked up to the City Water. When we came home last night water was leaking from the hoses near the shower pan, not a lot but then when I check the water connection outside water was coming out of the valve where you fill your water tank so it seemed like the City water was filling up the holding tank and making it overflow? I turned off the City Water and for now just turned on the Water pump to use the tank water but am confused on how to move forward of course.

Ok some of the confusion is you are calling your potable water tank a holding tank which refers to your black and gray tanks. More then likely your pump check valve is stuck open. Turn off the city water, drain down the potable water tank some and start your water pump run some water out a tap and then shut it off tap first then the pump, you can now turn on the city water that should have reset the check valve, you may want to drain the potable water tank so that you can see if the check valve is leaking. let the forum know what you find.

The hoses near the shower pan? You mean behind the shower wall in the bottom left of
the cabinet under the tv? Take that panel off. Two screws. Figure out which hose is loose. You will find a pump and a filter in there. Find the leak and repair it. Use a fan and air conditioner to help dry quicker after cleaning with towels. Good luck.

Change your rules:

Always shut the City water pressure "off" when you leave your rig.

it may save a flood or even a hose.
