Food expiration dates

I don’t let a dog or cat be smarter than me, I sniff everything before I eat. CA passed a law to eliminate those dates. Too much waste they said. But without a date people may throw away more. Those are some people with nothing else to do!

There are best use by dates, sell by dates and made on dates. Most of them have been around about 50 years. There were also coded dates. Not sure if most of us are over 50.

Most of us here grew up before there were experation dates..................
Amen. Some of us even served in the military and ate canned "rats" with indeterminate expiration dates. If it came from an undamaged can, didn't give off any gas when opened, and passed my nose test, I ate it.

8 Plus decades and my nose still serves me well.
