Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here.

Not in this case. It was this thread: What PSI to run?

The entire second page was not displaying when I responded to post #20 at the bottom of the first page. I made my post, now showing on page #2 as #34, and that's when I saw that link. I tapped it and that's when I saw the rest of the posts but all on one "page".

I was on my phone, not my laptop, so I'll have to watch for that more closely.

Still can't figure out how to delete an inadvertent post as could be done on the old software. Oh, well.

Ray
I just deleted one. If you're still within the time limit such that the Edit option still shows, just delete all the content and the post disappears.

Another bug report. Sigh.

One of the reports in the Daily Summary today (see first image below) shows the first post in a thread with today's date, 2025-02-23. When you click the link you find out that it's really an old post. If you look carefully, you see (second image below), that it's really an old post from 2024-11-14. This is the reason so many people are reactivating old threads. The Daily Summary should either:
Put the correct date on the emailed message, or
Point to the new message, not the first message in an updated thread.

I've reported several bugs but haven't seen any acknowledgements, even that the bug has been reproduced and has been reported to Zenforo. Is it going to be impossible to get bug fixes like it was the former, outdated software?

EDIT: I had a post in this thread on 2024-11-20, so I definitely should not have been directed to the first post. Either the software is buggy or the port was not done perfectly. Any ideas?

I am relatively new here and get emails every time a thread I've posted in has a new entry. I've been BBS-ing since the late 1970s so am not new to fora. Have un-checked Every Alert and the several options for email notices and still get emails to my profile address.

Driving me crazy enough that I might have to leave here.

Not too far a drive? ;)

Go to your account, then privacy, uncheck the unwanted options, go to the bottom and click save.

Worked for me.

If it doesn't work for you, create a filter in your email to ignore and trash.

For now you can try clicking the UNWATCH button at the top. That unsubscribes you from the thread.

You can also open the thread and at the top of the page you'll see a couple of buttons to either ignore or unwatch.

For the record, I have this thread marked for Watch-ing and another thread marked for Watch-ing and Larry's post in that other thread got me an email, but all y'all's posts in this thread did not. Same settings, different result.

I will Unwatch both threads and anticipate that will fix this for me. As it is I typically come-in here several times a day to this bookmark/favorite then notice if any threads I've posted to are int there:

What's the difference? I'd like to understand it.
To be honest, I don't know. I did click Unwatch on a few and it seems I don't get emails on those anymore. Maybe Ignore they don't show up in your feed at all? Will have to test and see...

I notice in "mobile view" when someone edits a post, it shows on the post as having been edited.
I do not see that on the web view? What am I missing?

In the past days, we've been working to update the forum to a new software platform and we've been offline. Welcome back! The new forum software is powered by Xenforo and there are some new features and functions. We're still tweaking things so please be patient.

There are many new features and I encourage you to wander around, test things out and then visit your profile and do some updating. Please keep in mind that changes and adjustments are still being made and so views will become more refined over the next few days.

Update your profile:
  • Consider uploading a new avatar (little pic next to your posts). The new site accommodates larger images and old avatars are looking a little tired. Avatars will automatically resize - choose a good one!
  • Update your signature if needed
  • Add a profile banner - larger image that displays on your profile page
Mobile viewing
The site runs well on small screens. Try it out on the road, and use your regular login - no app required. Set a bookmark for the site on mobile for fast access and look for push notifications (coming soon) to stay up to date.

Thread marking:
The forum remembers what you have already read and will display new unread threads as bolded or when you click into an ongoing thread, takes you to unread content BUT: You may need to Mark a forum "read" for this to work correctly moving forward. The conversion could not "remember" what you have already seen and so initially all threads may appear as unread. To do this, open a forum and look for the link at the top of the list of threads to "Mark Read". Alternatively, use the 'Mark Forums Read' link at the top of the page to mark all.

Classifieds: The classifieds pages are still offline. We have a new classifieds system in the works and it's not quite ready to go live.

There are many things still being tweaked and fiddled with and you will continue to see some changes but we wanted to get back online as soon as possible - thanks in advance for your patience.

Still under construction:
New Forum 101 Thread (how to navigate the board and configure accounts)
More items as they are discovered
Classifieds

Post up if you have questions - we're all learning :)
Is it possible to extend the expiration date of a classified ad if there have been no inquiries yet on the item?

I had issues last night around 9 or 10 central time. Nothing on the site would load.

Figured someone was doing maintenance.
