Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here.

I'm having trouble finding the proper place to click on a thread to go to the last unread post.
The old forum had a "button" before the thread title that would take you to the last unread. ( dependent on cookies) I don't see that.

If I click on the thread title it takes me to post #1 and if the thread is multiple pages, and I click the last page number, it takes me to the top of that page.

I'm obviously missing something I should be seeing.

Once you've clicked on "mark all forums read" at the top of the page (which you may need to have this function properly). Threads you've seen should load to the correct place. The software uses cookies to "remember" what you've read and open to the newest content you haven't seen. As before, this software functions best with cookies enabled.

Janet, thanks again for the new install. I know how much work that can be. It is appreciated!
I am enjoying figuring out how to use the new software to accomplish my normal forum actions. So far so good.

I do have one question. Is there a dark mode option?

Compliments!!!! I like the new look, but most importantly, you didn't ruin the site like GS did to RV.NET.
I was VERY afraid of what I would find when it came back on-line.

While change is always difficult for some folks, this set of changes maintained the form and format beautifully! THANK YOU!!

I have noticed that my user name has changed, it was Theb2b, now it is Theb2b-frf, why is this? I tried to modify my username, drop the -frf but get an error name already exists and when I search for Theb2b all I find is my current name. Lastly my name is linked to all my posts and profile so has it been this way all along?

in the list ... the link on the LEFT side bold is to the FIRST post of the thread

The Link on the RIGHT ' X Mintes ago ' above the username of the last person to post will take you to the last post

---------------------

now how come i cant 'like' my own post?

And clicking on the title of the thread will take you to your first unread post. Although if the last time you read the thread was before the update, then it will just automatically go to the first post. It will take some time to reset everything. Or as Janet suggested, you can mark the entire forum as "read" and then everything will be new after that.

now how come i cant 'like' my own post?

Why would you want to?

No - But your browser should have one :)

A complaint. I went down my list of watched threads. I had logged into the FR forum and thought I would only see threads related to FR. I was surprised when I opened a thread and found myself on a different forum... Is there a way of locking which forum I'm looking at?

Fixed.

I did some digging on this and see that you have 2 email addresses in our system and a display name collision. Each account had the same display name. We can merge these two accounts to solve this issue. Please hit the contact link at the bottom of the page to get some help with this.

where is that beer icon
the rest can be put in the back someplace

🍺 <---- For Janet

Hi Janet,
I noticed that my username also has the '-FRF' suffix added. I don't recall having two emails for this forum. Could you check it out and advise?

Nice job mapping the old forum "f" numbers to the new ones. Every bookmark I had set to specific forums still works so I'll just update them to the new URL.

I've done system updates when something was many, many years and many versions behind and it's never fun, easy, or quick. You folks did a superb job on the conversion and testing.

No need to reply.

I looked into this as Janet has her hands full. It appears you were able to register on the old site with a letter capitalization difference from another trucknut who registered in 2019. .....thus there being two trucknut usernames and hence your later one getting -FRF suffix. We could make another name or suffix if you like for you.

It looks like you have to open a Forum up to get the "Mark Read" option. No more just double clicking on the icon to the left of the Major Forum heading and having it marked read. Hopefully I am just missing something.

Never mind, I just figured out I open up the forums I want to read since I only read a few and then just click on the Mark Forums Read. Actually saves steps. Only one click instead of Double Clicking on all the separate forums.

I like the longer Edit option too. :)

Thanks Janet. I discovered some websites adhere to browser/phone system dark mode settings and some don't. My phone/browser is always set to dark mode.

I also discovered I can force Chrome to use dark mode for every website by going to chrome://flags and searching for dark and enabling 'Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents' flag. Just in case somebody else likes dark mode as I do;)

Thanks again for all your work and assistance!

Works fast on my new phone

Don’t know if its cause I got new phone or because of the update

I’m going to go shake the laptop see if it can go faster

BTW
Still looks too small and squished up on the phone
