Having problems filling the freshwater tank. It does not want to take the water on. Does anyone have any ideas? It's a 2014 Forester by Forest River model 3011MD.ppp

Moved thread from the Tech and Repair section to the Motorhome section's Forester and Sunseeker sub-forum for better help from other Forester owners and possible factory support.

For water to go into the tank, there has to be a way for the air to get out of the tank. Check for a blocked over-flow vent or line attached to the freshwater tank. Could be the home for an insect and the vent is blocked.

With the complexity of MH's, are the valves in the correct position?

If you can get access to where the fill tube is run, look to see if it's kinked. Some people have taken a fresh water hose and cut it so that they could insert it a couple of feet into the fill line, then attach their hose to it. Hope this helps.

2020 Forester 3011DS bought new, NEVER took fresh water easily from the filler tube. I have not yet viewed the fill tube but it feels like there must be an antisiphon type curve upward that creates a pool of water in the hose. This necessitates a need for high pressure to overcome that pool. Once i get the water flowing into the tank i have less backflow until i approach a full tank. There is always a little backflow while filling. I am not certain i have ever achieved 100% full on fresh tank. Just yesterday i obtained a 3 foot extension tube for my filler device that i will be testing later today. Hopefully i can report good results later.

*** update; i had added 4 feet of flexible 5/8" clear tubing on my water fill device, only needed 2. Filled to the top with minimal backflow.

maybe indicates ............. there may be a kink in the fill hose

would not be hard to remove filler fitting from the wall
and then pull on the hose a bit.... re-install the hose making sure it is not twisted and fits easy back in the hole
and then see ...... if it fills any easier
