fresh water tank question

I have a Forrest River Cherokee destination trailer. There are two hoses coming out the bottom under the freshwater tank. One is the drain and the other is a plastic hose that sticks down about 4 inches. Is this the overflow for the fresh water tank? I never use the freshwater tank because I am connected to fresh water system at the RV park.

if there is no shut off on it its probably the fresh tank over flow. you should have two more that are your low point drains.

fresh water tank hoses

Thank you for the information concerning the hose from the fresh water tank. I thought it was the overflow. Regarding other low point drains, when I bought the trailer the dealership rep told me that to winterize I had to disconnect the fresh water tank hose at the pump and connect a hose to draw anti freeze through the system. I have been doing this. This summer the well which supplies our water and water to other RV's in the park was not supplying enough water. We were told to fill our fresh water tank in case we ran out of water. I purchased a kit so that I could switch the flow from fresh water to anti freeze without having to disconnect the fresh water hose at the pump.

I am having baffling issues with my drain line and overflow line on a 2016 Wildcat 313. When I fill the fresh water from empty it takes several minutes for the water to start coming out of the drain line. I am assuming this drain line is on the very bottom of the tank so why would it take 2 or 3 gallons before water shows up? Likewise when I am completely full, it seems like 2 or 3 gallons at least keep coming out of the overflow, certainly more than what I figure the fillneck would hold, but I have never measured so I may have just answered my own question. The bottom of this trailer is completely closed in unlike my last. Would anyone here know where the ports for the drain and overflow are located on the tank this model? It really is only the drain I am concerned with as I don't want to leave any water in bottom of tank during winter. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

As long as you drain the freshwater tank for the winter, you are good. Even if some water remains in the tank it is no problem. What little water remaining would have plenty of room to expand when it freezes and not cause a problem for the tank.

Do not assume this. I don't know your particular unit, but I do know that in my motorhome the drain valve for the F/W tank is on the side, very near the bottom, but not on the bottum and draining it always leaves an inch or so of water in the bottom of the tank. It that's what you've got, don't worry about it. There's more than enough expansion space in the tank if it freezes in the winter.

Thanks guys. Your comments put my mind at rest. This system just doesn't react like my old one.
