Hello everyone,
So the weather in PA has been rather warm and dry this year so my wife and I decided to take a last 10 camping excursion not far from home, about an hour, to get away from the fix and repair of our brick and mortar home.
Anyway, we are 1 day into this trek and the microware display and operation are dead...I know we are glampers, but we use it to heat up home leftovers and out dogs green beans, (dogs love green beans).
The unit is a FURRION FMCM15-SS, our coach is a 2018 Berkshire 39A.
I did do some internet research and see there is a fuse in the panel above the door and display. I can see 2 screws that need to be removed but are not accessible, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!
I know it's not the outlet, I used our can opener to test it and it is fine. I have electrical background and I have a FLUKE meter in hand because I have a fuse issue in out 2012 Honda CR V toad, (what the HECK, Is this bad fuse day!)

Wondering if anyone has had this issue and has any tips on accessing the fuse or removing the panel, sorry for the long winded post.

Common problem in time

The fuse is easily replaced. Check YouTube for videos. In troubleshooting my similar problem, discovered that microwave units from different manufacturers are very similar.

If replacing the fuse doesn't solve the problem, likely it's one or more of the three microswitches in the door; also easily (obtained and) replaced and seem to fail in time.

If you get stumped, PM me and we can talk through the removal necessary for access. We also have a Furrion.

thank you Dog Father, you always come through!! I dropped the front of the MW to access the top front panel screws, removed the panel (those screws will never be re-installed :roflblack:) found fuse blown and obliterated, even the glass was cracked. I am in the HVAC business and that had to be a surge to draw that much to do that...replaced the fuse and we are ok. I will tell you, I am old and glass fuses were the norm, well I had to go to 3 auto stores and tractor supplies to find 20 amp glass fuses, I will convert it to a modern fuse over the winter. Thank YOU again!!

Not sure this was related to Furrion microwave but may still be good info.

Someone had said not to open the door while the microwave was running. You should first cancel or stop the cook cycle then open the door.

This helps the door switches from arcing. One of the most common problems with microwaves, burned up door switch.

Not slamming the door shut is beneficial too.

Not in an operational sense but just common sense wise. :)

That’s a great point. My wife and I never hit STOP/PAUSE to check on what’s inside, even at home.
Wonder if little microwavey thingy’s are escaping as well 😳(I being serious)
We definitely will start hitting the Stop button first
Thanks for the great advice!

I think you are safe. :)

Microwaves are larger than the screen in the glass on the door. Dissipate faster than you can open the door as the switches stop it.

The leakiest microwave(residential) I ever saw, and I believe it was the only one I ever showed any excessive leak on had very sloppy hinges and I mean sloppy. Door would move up and down at least an inch when open or there abouts.

With my tester right on the door seam it would read off the scale but by the time I moved it two to three inches away it was non existent. You would have to have your ear up against the door to get harmed.

And remember that was a very sloppy door. If I recall I would have to work at it to try and get any reading on a oven that had door with no defects. Microwaves do not make turns to well at the door mating surface.
