Hi Everyone.
Hope you all are keeping safe and warm!
I have put my tow vehicle in storage mode in the outside. Minus 20's coming up for the next week or more.
The GMC Diesel 2500 has two batteries. My question is: Is plugging a trickle charger into the DC port in the cab sufficient to keep the batteries sweet, or do I have to trickle one battery under the hood and run cables to the other? The DC Port supplies power when the vehicle ignition is off.
Thanks in advance for replies,
Ross

I use a ctek battery maintainer connected to one battery ( The batteries are in parallel).

I agree with Flybob I use a battery tender junior on my Ram with two batteries to keep them at 100%. sometimes it takes 24hr for the light to go from red (charging) to green topped off. good luck

Yep, agree to all the above. I have mine just wired to one battery (use a noco charger but same thing) and they are tied together so both will be maintained.

Just one thing, keep running the truck and make sure to get it out once a week or so and let it run on the road. Sitting kills these newer diesels (well most) and you could start seeing DPF / emissions issues by sitting or even get crap in the fuel. Not a mechanic, just my $.01( not even worth 2 cents). I run mine 60 miles each week minimum to and from work on a highway to let it stretch the wheels.
