We're Eric, Laurie, and Freyja our 12yo yellow lab. We live in central/northern NY. After years of browsing and looking, we purchased a Flagstaff 281RK back in January. We did the east coast to west cost round trip in March stopping overnight in Indiana, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, California Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, and Ohio and spent several days in Northern California visiting family, and a few days in the Mojave Desert of Southern California with friends dry camping. We spent the spring and summer in campgrounds within NY (Whetstone Gulf, Nicks Lake, Sampson, and Gilbert Lake State Parks).
We're empty nesters. I'm retired Air Force, retired Civil Service, and still part-time as a Government Contractor. Laurie keeps busy working retail at a local store. Freyja can be found chilling out on the sofa or our bed. She likes camping because we take numerous walks around the campgrounds and meet new people, and get to check out other campers cool setups.
Look forward to meeting folks who will be attending the NY rally @ Chenango Valley State Park in late July 2025!

Welcome from Maine. Wow, you jumped right into "full immersion" mode in the RV life. Brave people, you must have some good stories to tell. Looking forward to your input.

That's a pretty impressive trip... New York to California! We hope you'll share some of your experience with others. We're former New Yorkers from near Rochester, but moved south years ago for work.

Welcome to the forum!

bikendan is correct in that it has electric/magnetic drum brakes, so doubtful it has ABS.

You are going to have a great time at the Chenango Valley Rally. I and some of the other former attendees still talk sometimes. Give my regards to everyone there.

Welcome to the Forum from WNY!

You will find the forum full of invaluable information on your Forest River rig. Since my membership started in 2012 I can honestly say info from the many experts on the forum has saved me thousands in self-repair tips and troubleshooting, starting before I even bought my first FR a 2011 Georgetown.

Sampson SP and the entire Finger Lakes region are our go-to destinations in between larger multi-week trips. Try Camp Elmbois in Hammondsport, NY. An oasis in the rolling hills of the Keuka Lake Wineries, Breweries, and Distilleries.
