Grill on swing arm of camper low flame

Does or has anyone else had a problem with their outside grill on a 2016 wildwood 261bhxl. We can get it to light but it is only on low and won’t change to high. I have taken it apart and cleaned out the burner and pipes leading to it as well as the orfice of the valve. The burners inside the camper are working fine just the outside grill is the issue

There is a check valve between the regulator and the tank valve. It closes when it detects a high flow rate, usually due to a leak, it closes off the flow. That only allows a low flame. Have your regulator assembly checked out.

I did spray soapy solution on the regulator and all the connections and did not see any bubbles could the regulator go bad without a leak?

Yes. I had one on my grill go bad. A propane retailer can check it out, and fix it, if it's bad.

It happens. My regulator was made in China and was acting strangely (not automatically switching to a new tank, low flame in the stove burners after putting the lines, etc.), so I replaced it with an American-made one. Problems solved.

My regulator is up by my propane tanks. Wouldn’t it affect the burners on my stove on the inside as well. If it should it doesn’t. Can I take the regulator off and take it to a retailer or do I ha e to take the whole camper to them

It sounds as if your grill is malfunctioning, but don't expect too much from this thing. My grill works as it "should", but it's pretty pathetic compared to a home grill or charcoal. I can't get a sear on anything without squirting oil into the flame (the Carrabba's wood-fired grill technique).

I use my grill for some things...dogs and such...or for overflow from my charcoal grill...or for times when burn bans prevent the use of charcoal.

If you're serious about grilling, there are many good options, but I highly recommend this stainless steel folding charcoal grill. Super light. Comes with a tote back to keep things clean, and it's amazing.

I had the same problem in the past and when I lifted the hose it shot up higher.I change the quick connect both ends and that solve the problem

I could not agree more, what a piece of junk. I like the arm and all that, but have deep seated hatred for the cheap-o grill. I have been looking at a way to install something better but the attachment appears to be quite proprietary. While I am complaining the whole outdoor kitchen is somewhat crap. I really like the Open Range kitchen setup, but not enough to part with another 15k. This on my to do list for mods.

Found a griddle from black stone that works good and got the hose adapter that works for it as well. Had to modify how it mounted to swing arm but it worked a lot better than the grill ever did. It is a 17 inch propane griddle

I modified mine to fit a Weber Q100 and 220. I don't leave it on there when traveling. I don't trust the arm/bumper with the heavier 220.

The adapter does it hook up to the outside camper where you put the stove or it has it own tank

I found an adapter online that uses the original quick connect on the camper and a screw in type connector for the griddle like a bottle connection

The regulator may have a tiny port on the top side to allow diaphragm movement; depending on the model. Can you see one, clear it?

It took me a long time to find it. I have not mounted mine to the swing arm because I could not figure out how to keep the gridle top secure while traveling since it is only held on be gravity.

Yes I mounted the body with the burner on the swing arm but place the griddle in the storage compartment under the bed

Low Flame

Mine was actually the main gas regulator that went bad. You could not run 2 appliances that used gas or the flame would almost die completely. It took forever to boil water on the stove as well.
