I lived in the Hampton Roads ahead for quite a few years............ My only comment is watch the weather ......... While just a few tractor trailer have been blown off the bridge..... during windy conditions.... the outcome is never good....

Agree with watch the weather. We were turned away from crossing with a class c due to wind.
Ditto what he wrote. The Chesapeake can be a gorgeous drive in a car on a nice day but it can also be nasty if there is bad weather, especially wind. Not trailer friendly then! I-95 South. Stop in Savannah for a day; it’s a great old south city with interesting cemeteries and fun evening haunted tours! Tour an old aircraft carrier, too. It’s a gorgeous antebellum city, right out of Gone With The Wind. History. A heady atmosphere. Warning; you may leave there saying “ya’ll” from then on.
Almost got turned away once in the late 80's while traveling with a "turtle shell" on top of the SUV. They said I could either send the "shell" across with their shuttle van or I had to stuff it in the rear of the SUV...which I managed to do much to the dismay of the kids who had to endure a cramped 20 mile trip until I found a spot on the other side to get it back on the roof.
