Has the plastic handle on your Dometc DM2872 broke

I posted earlier about the handle on my Dometic Dm 2872 refrigerator snapping off on the third time out in my 2021 2506S. It is out of stock with Dometic and other rv parts supplier. In reading the reviews of this model refrigerator on the Dometic website the frequent complaint was the handle snapping. Several of the rv parts departments of dealers had customers experiencing the same problem. I am curious as to how many have experienced this problem and if it is problem which Dometic should be addressing.

I hope they get the parts problem solved soon. with that said I believe many of the problems with handles on the frig not just dometic get broken due to the owners trying to open the frig like stick house frig. You have allot of experience so in your case it may be the design and I agree dometic should look at it. make sure you have a paper trail so when the parts arrive they replace under your warranty. good luck

As a follow up Dometic replyed that they will send a free of charge handle in six to eight weeks. I found the removal of the handle very simple and even was able to remove the handle portion from the hinge portion.
