Every night for the past few nights my electric water heater has tripped.
In the morning I hit the reset and its good until overnight the next night.
Any suggestions?

Poor thing. I assume you help it up off the floor.

Perhaps you mean the circuit breaker for the WH is tripping? I can't imagine why that would only happen at night.

A brand and model number might help with ideas. Also, may I suggest that you put the information about your RV into your Profile and/or Signature. You can find those things in the UserCP link in the green bar in the top part of the screen.

I think he's talking about the reset button in the water heater itself not the breaker. The reset acts like an overload so either the reset itself is bad and tripping prematurely or maybe your electric element is on its way out the door. There not that expensive and easy to install. I would pop in a new element when you get some time.

Have no idea as to why it does it at night, but I would unhook from shore power and start checking the thermostat connections on the heater. You will have to remove the black cover to check them. Also check that the thermostats are tight to the tank itself. Clean the rust off of everything (thermostat/tank).
