How do you clean the rain gutter on the top of the camper. Its a very narrow channel on our Arctic Wolf 287BH, and right on the edge of the roof. Any tips?
I use a broom and slide it sideways through the channel, trying not to jam debris in there. If I do cause a jam, I clear it with the pliers on my Leatherman. Works fairly well.
The frequency of your gutter cleanings make a big difference in the ease of doing it. Once we get our TT out of winter storage, I use use a strong spray with the garden hose and THIS attachment every 3 weeks or so to clear out the debris. Takes me about 2 minutes on each side. No ladder.
Note that, when home, our TT is parked under a large birch tree and tends to accumulate pollen and leaves quite easily. That's why we do it every 3 weeks and the gutters remain easy to clean without scrubbing.
I've not tried this, but someone we met on the road cleans his gutters thoroughly each spring then applies several coats of RainX to the gutters' channels. He says it makes a big difference and the gutters clean themselves in the rain. Count me curious, but a bit skeptical.
Just get the ladder, water hose, old tooth brush and climb up there and clean them out. Excellent opportunity to get a good "close-up" look at those side seams.
Having our TT parked under oak trees for the past 7 yrs sometimes there isn't anything other than getting on your knees and digging the acorns out with a bent screwdriver and a leatherman pliers.
