Hello,

I have a '16 Cherokee 274DBH TT and I was thinking about upgrading the interior and exterior speakers. Seems to be an easy task but I don't want put my foot in my mouth. Has anyone done this and have any specific speaker recommendations or suggestions? Also, anything I need to look out for or be aware of when swapping out the speakers? What have you done? Would like to hear from all of you who have completed this mod. Thank you.

I have the same camper, love it. I also found that the inside speakers did not sound good, so I investigated changing them out. I pulled the one by the front door out to see what size they were and found the speaker was full of the insulation that's in the roof.
I cleaned the speaker out and pushed the insulation back away from the hole. I then cut 4 pieces of a pool noodle and formed a box inside the roof where the speaker goes. This will keep the insulation from getting in the speaker a causing distortion.
The pool noodle will compress and won't bulge your roof or ceiling out.I cut 4 pieces about 6 -8 inches long and carefully formed a box behind the speaker.
Now my inside speakers sound 100% better. I haven't done anything to the outside ones , yet. Hope this helps.

I have a 26DBH and just replaced my interior speakers. Not sure if what you have is same size (though I'd be surprised if they bothered to have more than one type of speaker) but this is what I used:

The trailer connectors are slightly bigger then what the new speaker needs so at some point I'll have to solder that or something, but for now it is working. The OEM faceplate can't be used as these speakers stick out more, but they come with a grill that is fine for me to use.

I also did find my speakers were stuffed with the 'insulation' from the ceiling when I replaced them so I'm sure just removing that would help!

I am definitely following this thread. The outdoor speakers are terrible. I have done some research and it appears the speaker mounting depth severely limits the speaker choices that are available. If anyone finds some decent speakers that will work, please post.
