Are people having good luck with the gopower or xantrex inverter, and what model. My magnum is having issues and since they are not making them anymore getting ahold of them has been a pain. I am just looking at replacing it on my 2025 Europa 32kd and be done messing with it. My firefly has both brands listed so it should talk.

What's the issue?
The main issue is when it is on float charge and it is saying it is charging at 15amps around 13.5v then it will spike to 15+ volts and over 50 amp for a second and then go back. When it does this the lights flicker and is very annoying. When it does it act up it will do this every 30sec to 1min. I have tried new batteries and no change. I also bought a magnum control panel and no real change. I have the agm batteries and it is set for agm2.

It also is not reading correctly on the firefly, says there is only 60vac input to the I/C, but when measured it has 120vac on both legs. I checked out another one at an rv show and it is reading the same 60vac input, so there must be a communication issue. When I use the magnum panel it says 120vac on both input legs
I am plugged into 50amp service

The Firefly (I thought) reads incoming power from the Transfer switch, not the Inverter. I have asked engineering if they have seen this before.

Here is a screenshot shot of the firefly.
Any ideas on the other issues with the inverter? It dosent seem right to have it float charging at 15amp and the voltage spikes

You said you have AGM? One or two Group 8's?

On the settings page, press and hold the floor plan for 10 seconds. A 2nd screen should pop up that lets you look at the floor plan selection and options. What batteries are selected in the options page?

Yes it has 2 8d agm it is set for those under the options from what I found. I unplugged the firefly and used a magnum controller and is still acting up.

Engineering is checking with Firefly to see why it would be reporting 60vac. We'll figure it out. If it is Inverter related, we would swap out with Xantrex most likely.

I did some more investigating today with my inline amp meter. There is something in the inverter that is drawing 10amps. With the battery unhooked it is still trying to charge at 10amps according to the remote panel. It is starting to make more sense now. The coach is drawing 2amps sitting (nothing on) and on float it is putting about 2 back into the batteries so that makes up the 15ish amps that the inverter is saying with the 10amps the inverter is drawing. Not sure what inside the inverter is drawing 10amps. there seems to be a internal issue, because with everything disconnected from the batteries except the inverter the batteries drop in voltage pretty fast, like down to 12.4v in less than 30min and keeps going and this is with 2 8d agm and the inverter/charger is turned off, nothing else even hook up. I have tried 2 sets of batteries and no change.

Bad capacitor in the inverter or converter?

Those big, cylindrical electrolytic capacitors have a high failure rate. Not for you to figure out, but when you identify which component failed, the manufacturer might want it back to do failure analysis.

Its all over iRV2 that the Magnum range of I/C is no longer available for RVs/Pleasure boats. General shortage of parts for replacement and no support from the US Agents.

Brian, what model xantrex is used. Looking at just buying one since the closest forest river service center won’t do warranty work since I didnt buy it there and a couple others I won’t let touch it as they are horrible. I wish there was a way to just get the part.

We might be able to work something out. I think it is the Freedom Pro, but will confirm.

Scott,

We have a Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 3000 watt inverter/charger and it’s been fantastic. We’re running with 800 Ah Lithium batteries that it can recharge up to 150 amps which is fantastic in reducing generator time.

It’s been trouble free and if Iwere going for a replacement, I’d go with it again.

It connects to our FireFly seamlessly and if you get the Bluetooth remote panel, you can view the inverter’s operation and change the inverter settings remotely if you’re not near your Firefly panel.

TLDR: Xantrex is a solid option.

Mine has been having similar issues. I've been working with Firefly and they are looking into it but also suspect the Magnum Inverter.

They had me do a hard reset on the inverter yesterday. Now I get what is shown on the second picture. I'm unable to change any settings. On that page. The charger inverter seems to be working properly otherwise.

They say it's been escalated to programing to look for bugs?

My Magnum needs an iRV Bridge to communicate with the Firefly system. Its mounted on the electrical board and has a reset button. Have you tried that reset?

I've checked and rechecked the connections on the inverter and this drop tap but I don't see an iRV Bridge. I haven't traced the stack/accessories wire.

We've reached out to Dynamax Customer Service to schedule a factory visit.

Thanks
