For those of you who have an Isata 5, could you please share how comfortable the area of the bunk over the cab is in extreme temperatures?

Does the cabover bunk get too cold when it is cold outside, or too hot when it is hot outside?

Is the bunk area temperature harder to moderate than the rest of the coach?

Thank you!

The bunk area has its own dedicated A/C outlets, 2 of them to be exact. So my son has had to close one in the summer because it gets too cold in the summer.

Winter would be tough because all the heat registers are at the floor level. If you were running a heat pump it would be fine. having said that, hot air rises, so as long as you don't pull the curtain closed, I have camped in the 20's with no issues. Anything colder, a sleeping bag might come in handy.

Same experience as Brian. A light blanket or even a small 200 watt heater powered off the 110 outlet on the shelf makes a huge difference once ambient is in the 20s for 24 hours. If it just gets onto the 20s before sun up, then not really necessary.

Thank you Brian! Does the Explorer package give different exterior wall insulation? Or is the exterior wall insulation the same with or without Explorer?

We found that the over cab bunk in our truck camper could get cool if the temp outside was cold. We used a mattress heating pad and that solved our problems. Perhaps that would work for you.

It used to. We used a 2lb foam (over 1.5 which is industry standard), but the 2lb foam made the wall straighter, so we changed across the board.

Edit: that should say "flatter" not really straighter.
