Hello and glad I found this forum! This is our 4th TT in about 12 years. We went without for 8-9 years as our boys outgrew them. We bought a 2020 Gulfstream Vintage 17RWD this February as a way to see if we really wanted to do it again. At the time we had a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk V6 tow package, so the trailer had to work for it. The Vintage 17RWD was 2800UVW, so it worked great. 10 weekend trips later using that little thing confirmed we wanted a larger TT, so we bought a new Ram 1500 hemi tow package a month ago and the search began.
We originally wanted a Coachmen Freedom Express Liberty 279RLDS, but it would have been January and the price increases made it at least $2000 more than what we saw a month ago. We stumbled on this Spirit 2557 RB while there at Country Roads RV in Winston Salem and my wife fell in love. I demanded it at least have a 12V frig and a ladder, which it didn't have. I called back 2 weeks later and one came in with the 12V frig, but ladders aren't an option, so I worked the deal over the phone. We bought it Friday and towed it from Cary NC to Birmingham AL Sunday, then here to Geronimo RV park in Miramar Beach FL yesterday. Are you ready for this? The 12V frig isn't getting cold, the freezer is frosting over and didn't even freeze the ice cubes all the way over night...... On the phone with FR trying to get a mobile RV repair out. Yay first day of ownership!!! Now my wife is proving again, should have bought the one with the 2 way frig......
