Leveler

Ok I know I have praised the BAL single axle leveler for my hw pup but it seams like I have to large of tire for it and have been having a really hard tire installing and removing it. I even tried placing some plywood down to help slide it but it didn't work. My engineering friend is going to mod it like his but not till winter. With all that said I am having a delemma. I have and anderson level also but I've only used it once but I'm thinking use it the rest of the season, but should I still take the BAL level?

My HW has 14" tires and I had a tough time as well. Its even supposed to fit up to a 15" tire. I found that working it side to side getiing it on and off helped instead of pushing the unit straight on or pulling it straight off.

Yeah that's what I've been doing but it's easier to set the hole pup up then put the level in or take out. This heat kills me when doing it. Mt friend cut all 3 tubes inserted a pipe into all 3 then welded them back up. He widened it about 1 inch and now to is very easy but still lifts the pup and fits the 15 tire.

On my 15" tires it is tight, but when I do use it, I just jockey it under the tire and crank.

Yep, rock it side to side and it will wiggle in. I usually have to put a few kicks in to get it just right.

That's what I do. Thinking a 1/4 plywood under the tire only might raise the tire up just enough. trying that next outing

I used the Andersen's last week for the first time and can think of no reason why this is not the best solution for leveling a single axle HW like my 276.

There are 4 highly praised solutions for leveling - most folks prefer one to all the others, and swear it's the best.

- BAL
- Andersen
- Lynx (the Lego blocks that I currently use)
- pieces of wood (I have used in the past)

I have always favored the cheaper and simpler solutions. With a level glued on the front of the A-frame that is calibrated in inches, I simply glance at the level, add the number of Lynx blocks (1 block = 1 inch) to the low side and back on.

One reason, if you are only off an inch or two, the Anderson does not go under the wheel far enough and eventually, the trailer could become unlevel. The bottom piece is stickup up like a weed under the wheel.

I like the andersen, I use it when the camping area is severely out of level, but when close, I find the BAL to be the best.
Just my opinion.
