LG Residential Fridge not getting power

Hello everyone! We just got a 2021 Cottage by Cedar Creek 40CFK2. We got it privately and can’t get much help from the prev owners. Everything works as it should (appliances, lights, outlets, etc). However, I can’t get the fridge to power on. It’s an LG residential fridge (French doors, bottom freezer, ice maker).

All of the fuses and breakers are good. I can’t really pull the fridge out to see if it’s plugged in with how it’s secured in its spot. But I’m seeing that some RVs have inverters for residential fridges, but I can’t find that anywhere on this RV.

We’re on shore power.

My questions are:
1) Does anyone know how to get the fridge to power on?
2) If there’s an inverter that I need to turn on, do you know where I can find it?

Thank you!

Moved thread from the Tech and Repair section to the TT/5th Wheel section's Cedar Creek sub-forum.

That particular refrigerator was used in many Cedar Creek models and does not have an on/off button/switch.

I also do not believe your Cottage model has an inverter.

Look in your Power distribution Box (breaker panel) typically if you have an INverter you have a breaker marked INV.
If no inverter, you should have a breaker marked REF.

If your stove is a Greystone convection, the spark ignitors/convection fan are also 120V and "typically" wired to the REF circuit.
Do they work?

Also, the outlet/plug for the refrigerator may be in the pantry back wall.

Thanks for the reply! I have a breaker marked “Inverter refer”.

The stove is an Insignia propane range and is operational.

And thanks for letting me know where the outlet is. Found it and it was plugged in. Still no power to the fridge.

You need to find the Inverter. The power from the breaker panel breaker typically goes to a receptacle close to the Inverter. The Inverter plugs into this receptacle. When on shore power the 120 volts just passes thru the inverter. The output of the Inverter goes to,the power receptacle you found in the pantry.

Find the inverter and ensure it is plugged in.

Here is how my Inverter is installed/works. Most are similar to this…

I just unscrewed every panel inside the RV, including removing the breaker box from the wall, and all I could find is a converter. No inverter found anywhere. No where near the batteries either.

Did you test that outlet for power? If there is power, then the problem is with the fridge itself. And if not, you need to find the inverter, which can be hidden almost anywhere, but usually a short distance from the battery/ies.

If I'm reading this correctly, the fridge is plugged in but not operational? If yes, plug it into an extension cord and run to an outside AC outlet known to be functional. That will narrow your problem.

Did you plug something into that outlet or use a meter to determine if it is the outlet of the refrigerator? You do not say for sure.

No mention of that in your posts. That info would sure help in your search for the problem. :)

If you have an inverter (this has been discussed before about Cottage models) it would likely be near the battery(ies) and heavy cables from the battery would run to it. Follow all the cables from the battery if possible.

I have see on another brand of cottage trailer... the inverter usually plugs into a 120v outlet. (sometimes it's hardwired but not for this particular scenario)
The refrigerator circuit then plugs into the inverter and when on shore power, the 120v simply "passes-through" the inverter and on to the circuit/outlet the refrigerator is plugged into. I have seen, where the inverter is NOT installed and the factory simply plugs the refrigerator circuit into the outlet that the inverter would be plugged into when supplied as an option. Maybe that connection is not made in your case?

My recent post should read "if it is the outlet "or" the refrigerator?"

not "if it is the outlet of the refrigerator?"
I figure you know if it goes to the refrigerator or not. :)

The issue has been resolved. The fridge itself was bad — the control board had to be replaced.

Thanks everyone for all of your help!

That's great! Thanks for letting us know.
Mind telling us who repaired it and where parts were sourced?
It may help others in the same situation.
