This forum is so great! At the same time I became an empty nester, I upgraded from my popup that I took my kids camping in for over 9 years to a 2011 Rockwood Roo 183 hybrid. Being new to towing a TT, I have had to learn a lot. Happy I found this forum! :)

We upgraded as well! Welcome to the hybrid club and welcome to the forum!

Upgrading was hard to do but I had to weigh the benefits of each to make a decision.

First, I did not like opening and closing the popup all the time.
But it was easier to fit in my garage.

Second, I liked the room in the hybrid more. Full bath, larger fridge and more cabinet space. I liked that I could keep things in the TT all season long better than in a pup.

I like being able to stop on long trips at a truck stop and access my stuff and even get something from the fridge. Take longer breaks indoors, somewhere that's yours and not public.

I do miss the open all around feeling. Having canvas that unzips 360 was great. Even it if wasn't open, I could see all around. The Roo I have now was a model that would open the most to get that feeling.

we moved on the more spacious and convenience of the Roo and have been very happy. I think you will too.
Enjoy!
