So I changed out our Dometic frig for a Magic Chef 120 volt a/c. Most of our travels have be short pulls 6-7 hours to a stop and replug into shore power and the frig is back cooling again. We set it as cold as it gets and since we do not open it, it works great. I have had this for 4 years. BUT..this summer we are going on a USA tour and I have a number of days that I will have no power hookups. I think??? I am going to go with another 100amp AGM battery, that would give me 200amp hour and a 1500W inverter. I will run a outlet behind the frig and wire it up to the battery/ inverter box that I have on the front. SO my question to the group is would this not power the frig for at least 10 hours? Amp draw is around 2 to 11 depending on the cycle of the compressor in the frig. If I then use my generator to recharge the battery I wonder how long that could take. I have a 2500w Champion generator. and 100 watts of of a portable solar panel, though I do think I need to up that to at least 200 Watts solar.
