Mondays at the tire shop

You need a new pricing policy. "The price increases by 10% with each successive request for pricing "

My mailman just cracked me up. When he walked in to give me the mail he asked if I was enjoying the cold weather. I replied probably not as much as you in that mail truck, which may not even have a heater.

He laughed and said his truck had a great heater.....in the summer, but he can't feel anything coming out in the winter.

Sounds just like the heater in my 1996 Ram 2500 with the rotted out heater core. Of course the dash in it is in so many pieces that if it deteriorates much more I can probably reach down through the hole to replace it. HAHA

Almost as funny as the customer stories are all the tangents we delve off into caused by this thread.
For a new tangent, today I turned on the news today and they showed someone on cross country skis "skiing" along Bourbon Street.

Did WM Tire have a rush on snow tires today?

We had ice in Quartzsite this morning at the RV Show. They sprayed the parking lot traffic lanes to keep the dust down and it promptly froze. Really exciting to see when rounding the corner into the parking lot on my e-Bike.

Back when I was in college a group of us got on a charter flight to Denver. Downside, we had to drive from Detroit down into Ohio to pick up the flight. It was one of the coldest days of that winter. I got lucky enough to get a ride in a VW bug. I got defrosted 20 minutes after we got on the plane. 🥶
Enjoy the snow, it's all of +3F here, but only flurries.

We got nothing. It all went south of us. One of my good friends who lives in Baton Rouge sent us this from her front door in the morning

Up in the Pacific NW snow often makes a winter visit. When it does show up and stick to the roads it freaks out a lot of drivers and gridlock ensues.

I can only imagine what the snow along the gulf coast is doing to people's minds there.

At least the snow fell now in the Quarter and not during Mardi Gras. That could really put a damper to that fun time.

I couldn’t imagine all the yellow snow if it fell during Mardi Gras.

Yup. Was watching an episode of cops where they were citing guys right and left for public urination. The highlight of the show was the guy the arrested for whizzing on one of the parked police vehicles.
I think the guy was too drunk to realize who it belonged to.

I'm right there with you.

I lived in Mobile, AL in my 20s (mid 1980s) after growing up in the PNW. I was taught to drive in the Coast Range mountains between Portland and Astoria and most of the lessons were in the snow & in 2 wheel drive.

We got snow one time in the 6 years I was there - an overnight dusting that left white patches between the taller clumps of grass alongside of the road.

I left for work at my normal time - in my 1975 MGB - and got less than 3 miles before I was pulled over by a county deputy. He comes up to my window and says "You shouldn't be out on the roads!!!!! It's not SAFE!!!!!!!" like he's some uncredited extra in a disaster movie.

I'm sitting there thinking "no, YOU shouldn't be out on the roads. I grew up in this. *I'm* fine".

What are the odds? I had a customer special order a pair of tires on October 15. She then came back on October 31 and special ordered another pair to match the ones she got a few weeks before. This last pair of tires have been sitting on a rack since November 1 awaiting for her to return to get them installed.

I had another customer this morning, who just so happened to also need two tires in that same size. I went ahead and sold her the tires that have been on the rack for almost 3 months and ordered the original customer another pair to be delivered Monday.

Well who do you guess showed up to get her tires installed a little bit ago? :cussing:
