We purchase a new Forest River 2024 Ozark 1680BSKX. The issue we are having with the Murphy bed is Forest River decided to remove the fold-down mattress support like the one-in the 2023 model. The mattress does not lay flat when trying to get out and the mattress falls to the floor. Our first thought was ours was left out somehow when it was built. The dealer was unsure and we were told to contact Forest River which we did without help. We're told to send photos I asked how you do that when you and the mattress fall to the floor. I wanted to see if anyone else has had the same issue and ideas on how to fix it.

Well, I think the people here would need to see photos too, before we can understand what you're talking about and offer help. I have a murphy bed, with a fold down flat platform under the mattress. I can't imagine the thing being functional at all without the hinged platform, so it's hard to imagine what you are describing.

I didn’t add this but we did send photos from the 2023 model of the hinge mattress support. Explained to them that was what was missing. We also brought this up to the dealer when we did our walk thru and was told it should get better which it hasn’t. Went back to dealer again and once again was told to contact Forest River, just a runaround.

Since you have pictures perhaps you could post them here so another owner could assist with ideas.

Finally a fellow victim of the Forest River murphy bed design flaw! This has been equivalent to seeing ghosts. We have a 2024 Ozark 2440BHK, and we bought it the first day these were dropped on the lot. The murphy bed has been a nightmare since day one, as there is NO platform for the mattress to rest upon, and the mattress overhangs the jacknife sofa by approx. 8"! The mattress has NO support, and hence, you fall to the floor trying to get in/out of bed. To add to the horror, Forest River put the wrong sofa in the unit with a tufted back (this was corrected in subsequent trailers), so now there's also a HUGE hump in our backs since the mattress doesn't lay flat. This must be corrected!

That is weird. I have some sort of lip at head of mattress so it doesn't slide off platform when folded up. None at foot, non-issue.

I know this is old but if anyone sees this I had the same issue. My mattress hung over about 6 inches and would make its way to the floor. Quite annoying to me. I am 6 foot tall so my legs would end of hanging at an angel due to the mattress moving.
What I did was unscrew the couch and moved it out 6 inches. Supported the mattress all the way. Then I cut me some 2x4's and and a 1x4 as you can see in the picture and put it under the front of the couch to help support the over hang. No more issues after that. This did cause a gap between the couch when laid flat and the the support board for the top of the mattress. I cut me some 1x4's x2 that would extend the length of the mattress and added 2x4's in between for strength. Cut them just tall enough to meet the top of the support board. Sorry no pictures of that.
You might also notice the one cushion on the end of the dining table if leaned against will fall in, has no back support. I cut me some 1x4's and 2x4'x and screwed them in to support it....then I traded it in on a bigger trailer.
