Have a small key on the secondary key-ring, looks like it should be for the outside TV door lock, like on the main key-ring. It however does not unlock the TV door, and is labeled R0001. Any idea what this is for? I've verified with 2 other XL owners, and they both have this same mysterious key, same number on it too.

The infamous R001 key locks the lower outside storage doors. All RV’s made I think use the same R001. You can buy them on Amazon.

Interesting, Milkman. I just ran out and checked the key on our lower storage doors and it doesn't work on our XL. We have the chrome, and possibly newer style bay door latches though. Assuming they are just accidentally getting sent with new XLs even though they don't work on anything.

I know a lot of RV's use the infamous 751 key.

Is the R001 key for the slam latch locks?

I have owned two Dynamax and the R001 key unlocks all the outside storage bays.

OP has an XL with power locks, as do I. Keys for the storage bay doors are totally different. This key is not it.

The R0001 key does not unlock anything. It likely is just part of the standard set that comes from our supplier and can just be thrown away. I passed along this question to our head of production so that maybe our production team can remove this key in the future to avoid any future questions regarding this "mystery key".

And there you have it…mystery solved! Thanks for doing the research…JGraber.

Send me a couple of your throw-aways! They do operate the locks on my Wildcat's side storage bays.

???Why would we do that? Then how in the world are WE going to operate the locks on your Wildcat's storage bays?

Here's how to find out what it does fit. Go to the campground farthest away from your home that you are ever expecting to visit, but make sure to leave that key at home. That will be the trip that you figure out what you need to unlock with that key that you left behind.

Our 28ss keyring included a set of 751 keys - standard RV keys we have had on previous trailers. We have never found anything on the 28ss it will unlock. R001s on the storage bays, 507CH on the rear hatch, etc.

We kept tubing our toes on the thumb latch on the hatch under the bed that accesses the water filter, often opening the hatch. So I replaced the thumb latch with a 751 tumbler I had from a prior trailer. Now the 751 keys have a purpose and we don't stub toes any more (well, not on that item).

I would not throw away a standard key, never know when it might come in handy, maybe for a trade.
