NASCAR camping Richmon Va. 1st timer

Went to the Atlanta race for 29 years first few years ran gen then moved on to family friendly camp ground with full hook ups. What a difference. always enjoy going. Enjoy and have fun. Sold camper in 23 and that ended my NASCAR attendance. Later RJD

We've been to plenty NASCAR races and have camped at a lot of tracks.
It's always a blast and also a wild time. It typically is not a "family" atmosphere... meaning... if you have young children, expect them to see and hear things you may not want them to.

The "atmosphere" goes on 24/7 during the weekend and we've never seen any restrictions on running the genny 24/7 in the areas we've stayed. I think some tracks now have "quiet area camping."

I did secure the genny with a cable & lock but I do that most everywhere we go just for S&G. Never had anything else not locked, touched.

The OP will definitely need ear plugs in their hybrid.

Richmond

We camped there last year for the first time in many years, and will be doing so again next month. It was very hot there last year and we made the mistake of turning the generators off for a few hours, the camper didn't cool off until about 2 in the morning. We ran 2 Hondas 24/7 after that. There is a gas station right across the street from the track. Hope you have a great trip, they were pretty amazing last year! One day the track workers drove around giving out popsicles to the campers, another day they came around giving out coffee and nice Richmond mugs. They are definitely first class there!

Thanks -

Actually - the campers to our right (we have been camping next to them for years - from tent camping to RV) are among the first that arrive on Thursday - they live about 1.5 hours from the track while we have a 5 hour drive. They always save the spots to the left of them for us.

We were able to reciprocate last October when they drove down from Pennsylvania and we we met in Martinsville -

Can't wait, counting down the days! I have received a ton of great feedback. I have learned so much, this is going to be experience, that I will never forget.

Hearing so many people that enjoy the camping/ RVing at the races, is unbelievable.

Nice Michael, I'm so psyched. Leaky trans cooling lines were repaired today, tomorrow morning I finish fixing underbelly of camper that was all soggy from a leak. Every day getting closer! BTW, welcome to the forum! About to have some salmon burgers for dinner and finish watching 2nd half of Talladega Nights!
