We just purchased a new 2021 38 ft Cedar Creek and we are going full time RV. The only issue we’ve had is that when we put in a DVD to watch, the sound plays through the stereo but how do I get the picture to show on the tv? I’ve tried every input I can find on the tv.:crying:

Have to make sure that the DVD is connected to the TV with a video cable but hopefully a HDMI cable which is both Audio and Video. I'm guessing the TV is on a pullout arm so pull it out and look at the "VIDEO INPUTS".

IF the cable is there try swapping it for a different input or maybe even a different cable.

You may also need to make sure the HDMI cable is connected on the back of the DVD player device. Likely, you will have to remove the unit from the mounting location to check this. I don't know what unit you have, but usually there is a face plate that pulls off, exposing the mounting screws.

On my 2018 we had the same issue. The hdmi arc cable was not plugged in.

They like to run only one arc hdmi between the DVD player and tv. Arc sort of means audio visual moving in either direction. Otherwise the hdmi cable is one way.

Has to be plugged into two arc outlets. Both components.

You are going to need to see the connections likely. Any goofy wire setup is possible.

Get the drawings of the components connections from the Manuel.

ARC = Audio Return Channel

Usually, when HDMI carries Video and Audio, they both flow the same direction, e.g., from a DVD player to the TV's screen AND speakers.

Sometimes you want them to flow in opposite directions, still over the HDMI cable so no extra cable is needed; that's where ARC comes in.

You've probably already tried this but just making sure. On mine. I hit the "source" button on the remote and then switch it to "hdmi1".

Thank you.

I have tried all the different sources. If I could figure out which cable going into the tv came from the dvd/stereo I’d be in a lot better place.

??????? Just because they invented ARC means that the DVD HDMI cable plugged into the TV's HDMI input doesnt send the Audio there as well.

ARC is really for sending the Audio to a Remote Audio Receiver and also to turn that device on and to use it for volume control. An application would look like this , Audio and video out of say a BlueRay into the TV and then the audio out to the home theater system.

In this case if the DVD was playing all you have to do is to use the standard HDMI input to the TV and the TV gets both audio and video and it is done. The question remains is if the DVD player can strip away the audio and send it to the speakers or if it requires a ARC cable from the TV to get the audio from the speakers. Original post said he can hear the Audio from the DVD therefore only the video needs to be sent to the TV and it is done so ARC shouldn't enter into this.
