Hello, All
We've had RVs on and off for over 20 years. We currently have a 2017 Cherokee 274RK rear kitchen TT.
We raised six kids and have ten grandkids. My wife's been an RN for over 40 years and still chooses to work most weeks Friday to Sunday third shift (11-7) to keep her hand in. I retired from 29 years of mixed Army and Army National Guard service in 2005, used to build custom homes and was deeply involved in fish and wildlife management at the regional and state level for some years. We sold our 90 acre Auburn, NY farm in 2017 and "retired" to our NC place full time.
I'm a volunteer firefighter and Advanced EMT, teach emergency medicine part time and teach climbing part time. I was a scoutmaster and scout council shooting sports director for a lot of years and work part time (seasonally) for the Old Hickory Council.
We have at least 10 camping trips scheduled between now and August. We mostly camp in NC, GA, TN and VA (mostly at USDA Forest Service or Corps of Engineers campgrounds) but have a three week swing through Upstate New York in August to visit family there. We usually head out at least every other week Monday through Friday to avoid the weekend crowds And we throw in some longer trips along the way.
I do all the maintenance, repairs and upgrades for our camper. Aside from having just finished its usual pre-season services over the new few weeks it's getting new Solera Awning fabric, a Solera slide topper for the 12' slideout, a new power jack, a set of JT's Strong Arm Stabilizers on the scissors jacks to reduce the sway when you walk around in the camper and a few other bits and pieces. The slide actuator was acting up towards the end of the season last year so I replaced that a few months ago.
I'm looking forward to being part of the community here. It seems like a well run and polite place which is good as I have very little patience for needless drama.
Best regards to all.
